Since her childhood in a Latino household in New York City, Evelyn has been instinctively bridging and integrating cultures to benefit from the best of both worlds. Always a leader, she was the first in her family to earn an MBA and emerge as a senior manager in corporate America.

Often finding herself as the only Hispanic woman executive in her business group, Evelyn saw a critical need for companies to address the unique professional development and advancement needs of women and multicultural professionals. To that end, in 1997 Evelyn founded Montalvo Associates, a consulting, teaching, and coaching practice that assists clients in tapping into and leveraging the full leadership potential of their diverse workforces.

Evelyn brings to her endeavors 25 years of corporate front-line experience gained at global companies such as American Express, Cigna International, Fidelity Investments, and The Prudential Companies.   She has multidimensional work experience ranging from strategic planning, research, and operations to marketing, sales, and international business including Latin America, Europe, and Asia.   Evelyn has also faced the realities of a competitive and complex global business environment. Thus, she has first-hand knowledge of what business leaders expect from their employees and how those resources must support value creation and bottom-line results for their organizations.

To her clients, Evelyn is known as a best-in-class “co-creator” developing winnable strategies and building capacity to ensure sustainable, high-impact change within their organizations. Known for her high energy, “fresh perspective” thinking and willingness to “roll-up her sleeves” attitude, she has earned the respect and appreciation of her clients such as Fortune 500 corporations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.

In 2004, Evelyn was awarded the prestigious National Hispana Leadership Institute Fellow for her leadership in the community. That same year, she completed the NHLI Executive Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.   She has been a guest speaker at professional and leadership development conferences for such organizations as Working Mother Media, Odyssey Business Retreat and Spelman College. Evelyn serves on the board of directors for Philadelphia’s Maternity Care Coalition.
